Scott Mash, CSO HIMSS President

Scott joined the Ohio Health Information Partnership in April 2014, where today he serves as the Director of Consulting Services and HIE Outreach. In addition, Scott also serves as a senior consultant for MIPS, Promoting Interoperability (formerly Meaningful Use), Quality reporting, CMS regulation, value-based payment programs, and the adoption and optimization of electronic health records, and other related special projects. Scott received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Ohio University in 1994, and his Master of Science in Leadership and Information Technology from Duquesne University in 2012. Scott received his CPHIMS certification in 2014 and was designated a HIMSS Fellow in 2015. Scott has served in multiple positions on the CSOHIMSS board including President, Treasurer, and HIE Liaison, and is an active member of several HIMSS national committees and workgroups.

Donna Carter, PMP- President Elect

Donna is the CEO of the Carter Consulting of Ohio, LLC. Donna has a degree in Healthcare Administration from Ohio University and is certified by the Project Management Institute as a PMP. She has been a proud member of national HIMSS since 2000 as well as a member of the Dairyland HIMSS, NOHIMSS, and CSOHIMSS chapters. Donna is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). Over the past 29 years in the healthcare industry, she has acquired an extensive background in health care operations and information technology.

Russ Hessler, Board Secretary

Russ Hessler has been involved in healthcare in both ambulatory and inpatient facilities for over 20 years. He has served on the CSOHIMSS board in various capacities in the past and is always open to assisting the board or our chapter members. Russ seeks continued involvement in HIMSS on both the local and national level.

Victor Simha, CSSBB, ITILv3, PMP- CSO HIMSS Treasurer

Victor Simha has 30+ years of experience working in IT, Data Analytics, Process Improvement, and Project Management. Victor has been a Director of Business Intelligence at The Christ Hospital and a consultant at organizations such as The State of Wisconsin Health Informatics, Alliance Health, Cigna, Franciscan Health, Ohio Health, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Victor has life sciences experience from his work at Alkermes Pharmaceutical and Ethicon Endo-Surgery and has certificates in Epic Ambulatory, Project Management, and ITILv3. Victor is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. Victor has served in multiple positions on the CSO HIMSS board since joining in 2012.

Megan Yontz, CPHIMS- Membership Chair

Megan Yontz is Vice President of Solution Engineering at J.P. Morgan where she designs enterprise solutions within the healthcare payments and receivables portfolio. Megan has over 10 years of experience in the Healthcare IT industry spanning from providing consulting and advisory services for healthcare systems, partnership and vendor management, and complex implementations.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration from Ohio University. An active member of the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) since 2019, Megan also serves as a member of the HIMSS Professional Development Committee and received the CPHIMS certification in January 2020.

Ajay Sharma, MBA, CSSBB, FHIMSS, Program Chair

Ajay Sharma has been a member of the CSO HIMSS Board since 2007. He is a HIMSS Fellow and has served in various capacities since his start on the board; from PR Chair to Program Chair, Treasurer, and President in 2011 and 2012 respectively, and Program Chair until 2017 when he served as President-Elect and President from 2018 to 2020. He works as an IT Project Manager for UC Health in Cincinnati and previously has been in IT consulting since 1997, working with healthcare providers such as an Ambulatory IT Project Manager at Children's Hospital, Los Angeles, an IT Program Manager at Palomar Health and Mercy Health in Cincinnati supporting and managing their projects and programs across the enterprise. Ajay lives in the Greater Cincinnati area with his wife and two children and is an amateur historian. In addition, he shares his musings in a WordPress blog focused on Healthcare IT and also hopes one day to finish his fiction adventure book.

Donna Evans - Scholarship Chair​

Donna has over twenty years’ experience in Information Technology, Insurance, and Higher Education. Donna’s interests include all aspects of Health Information Technology and particularly how it relates to culture and ethics. Donna teaches courses in Ethics and Technology, Global and Strategic Issues in Information Technology, in the Miami University Health Information Technology degree program. Donna recently took a group of students to Manchester UK to develop technology solutions for a multicultural "near to the streets" population. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in MIS from Miami University, as well as a Bachelor of Science with majors in Marketing and Finance. Donna is on the Fulbright Specialist Roster and is a Senior Member of HIMSS and holds the CPHIMS certification.

Kristos

Kristos Zagorianos, Sponsorship Chair

Kristos Zagorianos has 20+ years working in almost every  aspect of the analytics/business intelligence universe.  Kristos has designed, implemented, and managed standardization or modernization projects in national and regional enterprises with thousands of users and several million records as well as specialized service providers with less than ten thousand records.  Over the past 14 years, Kristos has been working to modernize analytics at healthcare organizations like Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and Medical Center, University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Bon Secours Mercy Health and Dayton Children’s Hospital.   Kristos’ passion for BI and analytics has led him to design and deliver  training to thousands of users and has implemented and managed user groups to help organizations grow and learn in their BI journey. Kristos has a degree in management of technical operations as well as a Master of Science in Information Technology, with a specialization in health care information management.

Neha Matta, Advocacy Chair

Neha Matta, JD is General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer at The Health Collaborative, leads the organization’s legal and risk management activities including HIPAA compliance, contract drafting/negotiation, and employment law. She also leads the Data Governance Committee, composed of regional providers, payors, and employers, and serves as Government Relations liaison to the area’s major hospital systems. Neha strives to advance common strategic goals, working collaboratively with stakeholders and their privacy officers across the region.

Andrew Nixon, HIE Liason

Andrew Nixon has worked with multiple health care operations over the last 5 years.  The last 3 have been with Premier Health in Dayton within the Physician Network. Currently, he is the Director of Ambulatory Epic Support and the Physician Network Informatics group Here he is supporting the network by providing a hybrid team of business analysts and IT developers to support the business. He has worked within Revenue Cycle Analytics at Mercy Health and was a consultant with other health care companies.  He has also spent time working for and consulting with Retail and Insurance firms to help drive IT to change projects and initiatives using data as the foundation of those programs. His focus is on big data and helping leadership solve business problems using data and information to help drive successful change management programs.

Caitlin Graham

 

Caitlin Graham, Board Member at Large

Caitlin Graham leads the Core Network business unit at CoverMyMeds, where she is responsible for working with providers, pharmacy chains, system vendors, and industry partners. Caitlin has been part of the CoverMyMeds team for nearly 10 years, having previously led the Provider Account Management, Implementation, and Analytics teams. During that time, she advised some of the top health systems in the U.S., launched CoverMyMeds’ first EHR partnerships, and helped grow the CoverMyMeds platform to more than 600,000 users.

Jeff Haas, Board Member at Large Candidate

Jeff is responsible for the Inpatient Clinical Application environment at Premier Heath, which includes Miami Valley Hospital, Miami Valley Hospital South, Miami Valley Hospital North, Atrium Medical Center, and Upper Valley Medical Center. Jeff leads a team of 60 clinical application members, ranging from Team Leaders, Project Managers, and Programmer Analysts supporting the Emergency Departments, Cardiology, Surgery/Anesthesia, Laboratory, Medical Imaging/Radiology, Pharmacy, and Inpatient Clinical Documentation and Orders. Prior to this role, Jeff was responsible for establishing the implementation and support teams to execute Premier Health's Ambulatory “Community Connect” outreach solution to employed and affiliated physicians in the South West Ohio market.

Prior to this, Jeff served as a Medical Imaging consultant, PACS Administrator, and Project Manager. Jeff has a Master’s Degree in Organization Development and Change from Kent State University.

Alex Vaillancourt

 

Alex Vaillancourt, CSO HIMSS Past President

Alex Vaillancourt is the CIO at the Cincinnati Health Collaborative. In previous roles, Alex provided oversight of the organization’s project portfolio across all lines of business. Alex has over 20 years of experience in the Healthcare IT industry in leadership roles in a large ambulatory practice, a community hospital, a large health system, as well as payer and vendor environments. He is an active member of both the Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME); organizations that strive to further the mission of what information and technology can do to improve patient care.
